A Touch of Light from AG Webb on Vimeo.
Commissioned by the Canadian Music Centre for Scotiabank Nuit Blanche 2013, A Touch of Light was a visceral exploration of the intersection of sound and sight. The responsive lighting sculpture served as a visual accompaniment to the marathon of live piano performances taking place throughout the night.
Working closely with collaborators Jeff Lee and Omar Khan, LeuWebb Projects repurposed a vintage signage marquee composed of 128 incandescent light bulbs into a real-time visual processor of alternative musical notation and energies.
Within the intimate confines of the Canadian Music Centre’s performance room, A Touch of Light cast a mesmerizing spell over visitors as the piece responded to the range of solo piano performances taking place hourly.
