“Waterfronts are exchanges of movement and experiences. Water touches land, people touch water. We are drawn to water where activity is richly concentrated and held captive along an edge. Hard edge or soft, we move toward and with the crowds – back and forth – drawn to embrace the public spectacle of the urban waterfront. Taking a moment, we sense an exchange into a private space as we cross a threshold where the perception of activity and noise fades. Then we are immersed.”

The Architecture Gallery at Harbourfront Centre was the site of a collaboration with Victoria Taylor and Linda Dervishaj. Working with the concept “Lake Effect: Architects Respond to Our Connection To Water”, the team created an immersive installation which transported the visitor to a private space adjacent the water through the sounds of water, public spaces, cedar decking, and water plants.
