Art Underground

Join us June 5th for a Public Art Concept Presentation of our proposal Outside the Lines for Wilson Station on the Toronto Transit Commission’s subway system. The proposed project seeks to capture the site’s capacity for dynamic movement through bursts of colourful sculptural forms. Rather than a singular static art piece, Outside the Lines is playfully fluid. Popping out of walls, shooting through floors and coiling around columns, it flows through the sprawling station in the form of ten vibrant installations.

On the Beach

In/Future proved to be an incredible re-imagining and re-invigoration of Ontario Place, that neglected public land occupying a special place in our memories and on the shore of Lake Ontario. We were honoured to create our component sculpture Flotsam/Jetsam for the exhibition and witness it shift and evolve through the actions of waves, weather and visitors over the course of the ten day festival.

in/FUTURE

Our proposal Flotsam/Jetsam was selected for the groundbreaking exhibition in/FUTURE: A Transformative Art Experience to take place at Ontario Place this fall.
From September 15-25, 2016, the west island of Ontario Place will be transformed into a hub of artistic and performance activities. Located on the pebbled shore of the island will be Flotsam/Jetsam, a series of cast future relics and fragments of Ontario Place – invoking the park’s past as a utopian dream and the potential future of the island as an archaeological ruin.

Skulptursymposium, Denmark

LeuWebb Projects was recently invited to Denmark to participate in the Gaesteatelier Hollufgard’s Tilsynekomster International Sculpture Symposium 2015. The intensive 10 day forum provided lively discourse and a fertile environment to develop project ideas for site-based works that will be further gestated leading to installation within the grounds of Hollufgard in June, 2016.

An exhibition of the project sketches and models is on view at the Gaesteatelier through October, 2015.

Additional documentation of the symposium’s proceedings are now online.
